2.The WhatsApp app has announced a new feature of Ephemeral Messaging (disappearing messages) to the platform. This feature will be available to all users worldwide by November 2020.



3.ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) has successfully launched the earth observation satellite EOS-01. India’s latest earth observation satellite EOS-01 was launched onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C49).



4.The 4th Joint Commission meeting on Bilateral Cooperation between India and the Philippines was held virtually on November 6, 2020. The meeting was co-chaired by the External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, and Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Teodoro Locsin Jr.


5.Denmark, in an unfortunate decision, has decided to kill every mink in the country to stop the spread of mutated coronavirus to humans. The total estimated population of minks in Denmark is around 15 million.


6.Kamala Harris has made history by becoming the first female, Black and Asian American Vice President-elect of the United States.

                                                                   She will be the first woman ever to hold the office.Kamala Harris will also be the nation’s first Black and Asian American vice president in history. The 56-year-old was born to immigrant parents from India and Jamaica.


7.United Nations warned on November 8, 2020 that nine million people risk displacement from the escalating conflict that has triggered in Tigray region of Ethiopia. 


8.The newly elected President of United States, Joe Biden, has announced to set up a task force for COVID-19.  President Biden made this announcement during his victory speech in Wilmington, Delaware. 


9.Indian diplomat, Vidisha Maitra has been elected to the UN’s Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ). 

                                                 The election was a tightly contested one but Maitra won with 126 UN members supporting her candidature for the only post for the Asia-Pacific group while 64 voted for the opposing candidate who was from Iraq.


10.The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a notification that FASTags will become mandatory for all four-wheelers, including old vehicles, from January 1, 2021.

                                           For this government has made an amendment in FORM 51 (certificate of Insurance), wherein the details of FASTag ID shall be captured. This shall be applicable w.e.f. April 1, 2021.
