1. Academic Freedom Index(AFI) report provides a score to individual countries to specify the level of academic liberation its universities and educational centres.  

                                                   India has scored considerably low in the international index of academic freedom. 


2. Former India football captain and midfielder Carlton Chapman passed away on 12 October 2020.

                                                             He died due to cardiac arrest. He was 49 years old. About Carlton Chapman, Carlton Chapman formed a deadly trio at the club level with Bhaichung Bhutia and IM Vijayan in the 1990s. Carlton Chapman played for India between the years 1995 and 2001.


3. Joe Biden in a significant twist has taken lead over President Donald Trump in Georgia and Pennsylvania and is on the verge of becoming the next President of the United States. 


4. The Culture Ministry has issued the SOPs- Standard Operating Procedures to re-open Exhibitions, Art Galleries and Museums from November 10, 2020, on the preventive measures to control the spread of Coronavirus.


5. The fourth high-level meeting of India-OPEC Energy Dialogue was held virtually on November 5, 2020.
                                                From India side, the dialogue was represented by the Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. 


6. Recently, the Pakistan government decided to transfer the management and administrative control of the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur from a Sikh body to a trust under the Evacuee Trust Property Board which is a non-Sikh body. The Gurudwara was managed by Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (PSGPC) until now. 


7. noted filmmaker Hariharan has been selected for the JC Daniel Award, the state government’s highest honour for lifetime contributions to Malayalam cinema. The award carries a purse of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, and a sculpture.

8. National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman, Dilip Rath has been unanimously elected to the board of global dairy body International Dairy Federation (IDF).                                       
                               He has been associated with IDF for the last 10 years as Member Secretary of Indian National Committee and as a member of the Standing Committee on Dairy Policy and Economics.
