1.The star of Bengali cinema and winner of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Soumitra Chatterjee was known for his collaborations with the Oscar-winner legendary director Satyajit Ray especially for the role of detective 'Feluda' and Apu in Ray's 'Apur Sansar'.


2.Jharkhand Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on Sarna Code during a special one-day assembly session on November 11, 2020. The resolution seeks the inclusion of Sarna as a separate religion in the 2021 Census. 


3.The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) has formally launched the Food Coalition, an international coalition to address COVID-19 impact on food systems and agriculture worldwide.

4.The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change recently announced that the Lonar Lake in Maharashtra and Sur Sarovar lake in Uttar Pradesh have been added to the Ramsar sites. 


5.India test-fired all-weather Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air-Missiles at the Chandipur Test Fire Range. It is called QRSAM and is a canister-based system. 


6.China and fourteen other countries signed a deal to set up the world largest trading bloc. The negotiations to sign the deal began in 2011. These 15 countries account for 30% of the world population and 30% of global GDP. Thus, the deal is the world largest Free Trade Agreement. 



7..Armenia and Azerbaijan have signed the Russia-Brokered Peace Deal, an agreement that aims to end the military conflict over the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh. The signing event follows six weeks of fighting between Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenians.

8.Government of India (GoI) announced an Rs.65,000 crore fertilizer subsidy for farmers. The announcement was made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 12 November 2020.


9.The Haryana State Assembly passed a Right to Recall Panchayat Member Bill. The Haryana Panchayati Raj (Second Amendment) Bill, 2020 was tabled by Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.


10.International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has conducted a meeting in New Delhi. The IFSC Authority approved the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Banking) Regulations, 2020 in the meeting.


11.The Union Ministry of Textiles has launched a campaign for Diwali- “Local4Diwali”. The campaign has been launched to promote the Indian handicraft which is the cultural heritage of the country and also a source of livelihood for many. 


12.Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be starting ‘Bharat Darshan–Dakshin Bharat Yatra’ from December 12. The Bharat Darshan Yatra will start from Hyderabad and Secunderabad from December 12 to 18. The theme of this yatra will be ‘Show India to Indians’.
