 1.The 17th ASEAN-India summit was held on 12th November 2020. The Summit was co-chaired by Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. PM Modi addressed the virtual Summit. The 17th summit took place amid the India-China standoff in eastern Ladakh.


2.Armenia and Azerbaijan have signed the Russia-Brokered Peace Deal, an agreement that aims to end the military conflict over the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh. The signing event follows six weeks of fighting between Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenians.


3.The Haryana State Assembly passed a Right to Recall Panchayat Member Bill. The Haryana Panchayati Raj (Second Amendment) Bill, 2020 was tabled by Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala. With this Bill, the people in rural areas will get the right to remove a sarpanch or members of the two bodies even before their tenure is over.


4.The 5th Ayurveda Day was observed on November 13th, 2020 on the occasion of Dhanteras. The AYUSH Ministry has been observing Ayurveda Day every year since 2016 on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti. 

5.The World Health Organisation would be setting up a WHO Global Centre on Traditional Medicine in India. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 13, 2020. 


6.India provided 50 Metric Tons of food aid to the citizens of Djibouti as part of its assistance efforts to friendly countries to help them overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

7.China has launched the world’s first 6G experimental satellite on November 6, 2020. This satellite will test the Tetrahertz waves technology in space.


8.The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh has launched the roadmap to ‘Aatma Nirbhar Madhya Pradesh’ on November 12, 2020. By doing so, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state that has adopted a programme of self-reliance. This roadmap has been launched in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Aatma nirbhar Bharat’ initiative.



9.National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), Vadodra has launched seven new programmes on November 12, 2020. The courses comprise of two BTech UG programmes, two MBA and three MSc programmes on core applied sector.


10.Boskiyana’, a new Hindi book on Gulzar, veteran Indian poet-lyricist has been published by Radhakrishna Prakashan. The book portrays the life of Gulzar through his films, poetry, philosophies, lifestyle, likes and dislikes. The 228- page book is edited and compiled by Yashwant Vyas. ‘Boskiyana’ is the name of the house of Gulzar in Mumbai.


11.Former Sikkim chief minister Sanchaman Limboo passed away. He was 73. He was the fourth Chief Minister of Sikkim from 17 June 1994 – 12 December 1994 from Sikkim Sangram Parishad Party.


12.actor, producer and humanitarian, Sonu Sood is set to pen his autobiography titled “I Am No Messiah”. The book will be co-authored by Meena Iyer. The book will account the experience of Sonu Sood during the COVID-19 pandemic. The book is set to be published by Penguin Random House India and released in December 2020.
